Our usage of water and how it affects us

Our usage of water and how it affects us

  •                  In places where clean water is limited, wasting or overusing water limits the amount of water other communities could use for things like drinking, cleaning, cooking, or growing. Which can contribute to to disease, illness, and starvation. Did you know showers are about 8.2 minutes long ?For every minute we spend in the shower we use about 2.1 gallons of water. So every shower we take we use about 17.22 gallons of water. One person drinks about 3.5 gallons of water in a week so we use more water in the shower than a family of 4 would drink in a week. So why should we save water? Well one major reason is we need water to live, and the more water we use now the less water we will have later. Saving water helps preserve our envierment. Saving water now means having water later for recreational purposes too! Safe drinking water is something lots of people take for granted. But millions of people only have contaminated water. 27% of the worlds population live in potentially really water scarce areas.
